As a student in SGC, my purpose is to continue learning and to put that learning into practice. My love for science makes being in this program so rewarding and fun at the same time. Both my major and this program are helping me work towards my goal of working in the medical field. By being in SGC, I hope to become knowledgeable about the content of global change, but also about how to perform and present scientific research. I am very excited to see what I can learn from the Practicum and the other opportunities that SGC offers. Although the pandemic has affected SGC this semester, I look forward to meeting everyone else in the program and working with them. The SGC members I have met so are all smart and driven individuals who I have had a wonderful time getting to know. I cannot wait to see what my future in SGC, and at UMD as a whole.
