Jeremy's Run is an annual Walk/Run to benefit The Partnership at Drugfree.org, the Jeremy Glass Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Kolmac Foundation, and The Family Support Center's school program "Lights On." The race will begin and end in the Fair Hill Shopping Center parking lot. The race is USATF sanctioned and the course is USATF certified. The 5K, 10K and 1 mile fun run will be IPICO chip timed by the Montgomery County Road Runner's Club (MCRRC). The 5K walk is not timed.
Participants can choose between a 10K race, a 5K walk/run, or a 1 mile fun run. Registration for all three races is available online (see the Registration Section). Packet pick-up will be held on Saturday and Sunday before the race (again, see Registration Section for details). Race-day Registration and same day packet pickup will begin at 6:30am and will end promptly at 7:30am.
This year we have a redesigned 10K couse that is LESS difficult than in previous years.
We are going "green" again this year with a Virtual Race Bag. The bag will come to our participants by email and they can pick what they do and don't want.
The Green Turtle is putting on a "Funds for Friends" event for Jeremy's Run on a date to be announced. Come back for details!
There will be free t-shirts, a raffle, a DJ, food, free massage, and a wellness fair. There will also be a kids zone with a moon bounce, face painting, tatoos, clowns, balloon twisting, and a DJ just for the kids! The first three male/female finishers in each age category will receive awards folling the race.
There will be a brief candle lighting ceremony prior to the race. One candle will be in memory of those who have died due to this disease. One candle will be to honor those in "Recovery". One candle will be to offer "Hope" for those still suffering. If anyone would like the name(s) of someone to be read in their memory, to honor their recovery, or put out hope for their recovery, please email the name of the person and a note about which candle to the race director, Cyndi Glass, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
