“Mid-Autumn Festival”

Lacobie, Connie., “Mid-Autumn Festival.” (2003) Retrieved: 4 April 2005 <http://lacobie.org/MidAutumnFestival.html>.

The Mid-Autumn festival is not as widely celebrated in the United States, so here Connie Lacobie introduces to viewers a piece of Asian culture and history behind this celebration. Lacobie starts with a brief introduction of the celebration of the Mid-Autumn festival. Her personal website is then separated into four sections, starting with the legends of this festival and later bringing viewers into her present day celebration in America. Starting with the basic legends and history, Lacobie takes readers into her own personal experiences. She starts with her experiences as a youth in China during the Mid-Autumn festival. She later moves to the United States, and in this following section describes how she is preserving her traditions with her children, and how she has introduced her American husband to this festival. Although these traditions cannot be completely carried out the same way as when she was young, her American-Chinese family is making their own version of this celebration to commemorate its history and significance.
