Although this weekday celebration “clashes” with busy schedules, it nonetheless has acquired the approval of the people. Many still believe the Mid-Autumn festival tradition should be carried on and celebrated. No longer the elaborate celebration it once was, this festive day has rather turned into a day of special dining. This day has become the “mooncake day,” far from its original historical meaning. For some, losing the richness of this festival has turned this day into a “monotonous” and “boring” celebration.
