My doctoral training is in Comparative Literature, with an emphasis on modern poetry, women's literature, and interdisciplinary studies in Religion and Literature.  The courses I teach in the University Honors Program are designed to help students to think about what they read in ways that foster cross-cultural, interfaith, and interdisciplinary understanding.

In addition to my work at the University of Maryland, College Park, I also teach courses in literature, writing and spirituality at Wesley Theological Seminary and Virginia Theological Seminary.-
