Adaptive Credit Control

• Three types of credit:
  • Allocated Credit (AC) - The size of the credit buffer allocated to the VC at the downstream node - defines upper bound on the bandwidth that credit based flow control will allow VC to operate at
  • Operating Credit (OC) - Size of credit required to sustain current bandwidth
  • Used Credit (UC) - Size currently occupied by data cells in buffer
