CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS
- Public Libraries and the
Internet. Funded by the American Library Association
(ALA) and the
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Continuation of the
national surveys conducted since 1994. Expanded to the
Public Library Funding and Technology Access Study by the ALA
Office of Research and Statistics.
- Libraries and E-government.
A study that assesses the roles, issues, and strategies that public
libraries use in providing E-government services to their communities.
Conducted in conjunction with the American Library Association's
Office of Governmental Relations.
- Capacity planning for public
library Internet-enabled services. Project to assess public
library capabilities to implement, maintain, and develop advanced
public access technologies and broadband services to serve their
communities.
- Federal Depository Library Program
in the 21st Century. A study that examines the digital
government environment and its impact on the Federal Depository
Library Program.
