Irving Leslie DeVoe was also known as "Leslie I." He was born on 24 January 1898 in White Plains, Westchester County, New York.2 He was the son of John Herbert DeVoe and Edith Edna Tompkins.1

Irving Leslie DeVoe appeared on the census of 21 June 1900 at Greenburgh Township, Westchester County, New York, in the household of his maternal grandfather.3

Irving Leslie DeVoe appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at 5 Harmon Street, White Plains Village, Westchester County, New York, in the household of his father.4

Irving Leslie DeVoe appears in a photograph of a fourth-of-July picnic at the Anderson estate on Post Road in White Plains, probably taken around 1918.5 He was an electrician with Whiffen Electric of White Plains until his retirement in about 1963.2

Irving Leslie DeVoe appeared on the census of 26 April 1930 at 25 Lawton Avenue, Hartsdale, Greenburgh Township, Westchester County, New York, in the household of his father-in-law.6 He was an electrician in an electrical shop according to the April 1930 census.6

Irving Leslie DeVoe appears in a family photograph possibly taken at the time of John Herbert and Edith DeVoe's fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1938. He was a veteran of World War II.2 He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Hartsdale, and of Local 501 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.2 He resided in 1977 at 25 Lawton Avenue, Hartsdale, Westchester County, New York.2

Irving Leslie DeVoe died on 30 May 1977 in White Plains Hospital, White Plains, Westchester County, New York, at age 79.1,2
