Esther de Voe was born in 1757; the birth date of 1737 given in the Thos. De Voe genealogy2 must be a misprint. She was the daughter of Abraham De Voe and Lea Storms.1 Esther de Voe was also known as "Hester." She was baptized on 24 October 1758 at the Old Dutch Church, Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York.3 (The Old Dutch Burying Ground of Sleepy Hollow, 1926, gives 1759 for the year she was baptized).4 Her name was also found as Ester and Esther Devoues.
