William Oakley was born about 1722 in the Borough Town of Westchester, New York.2 He was the son of Miles Oakley and Sarah Tippetts.1

William Oakley married Eunice Hunt, daughter of Moses Hunt and Mary Close, about 1744.2,3 According to Everett Hunt's web site, A. W. Savary (New England Historical and Genealogical Register, April 1912) says that William Oakley married eitrher Eunice Hunt or Phebe Hunt, and David Oakley married the other.4 In 1792 William was one of the original trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Peekskill, Westchester County, New York.2

William Oakley died in 1809.5
