Moses Hunt was born on 21 March 1684 in the Borough Town of Westchester, New York.1,2 He was the son of Josiah Hunt and Martha (?).

Moses Hunt married Mary Close, daughter of Thomas Close.3 (The Jones manuscript gives her name as Ann Close).1 Moses Hunt and Mary Close resided in Eastchester, Westchester County, New York.2 Three daughters of Moses Hunt (Sarah, Eunice, and Phebe) married three sons of Miles Oakley (David, William, and Joseph).

Moses Hunt died in 1764.2 He left a will dated 30 June 1760 at Eastchester, Westchester County, New York, and probated 21 May 1764.4
