Descendants of Miles Oakley
David Oakley was born on 19 November 1750 in Mile Square, Yonkers, Westchester County, New York.1 He was the son of David Oakley and Sarah Hunt. The Oakley Genealogy by Philip Horne says he was born in 1752).2 H. L. Jones, in "Early Westchester Families," says He was a member of the militia in 1775 and on April 13, 1775, he, his father and three hundred and twenty-one other inhabitants and freeholders of Westchester County, signed a petition against rebellion.1

David Oakley married Eunice Oakley, daughter of William Oakley and Eunice Hunt, in 1778.2,1 David and Eunice were first cousins, since they both had Miles (8) and Sarah Oakley as grandparents and also Moses and Ann Hunt as grandparents.

David Oakley died on 31 October 1829 in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York, at age 78.3,2 He was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Eastchester, Westchester County, New York.3
