To the editors:
I am grateful that information about the current problems with the ABS
in the Chrysler minivans is being given media attention. However, I
am appalled at the continued denials by the auto manufacturer that a
problem exists. Further, I think Chrysler is insulting its "valued
customers" by implying that "driver error" is responsible for many of
the ABS failures. Are owners causing major component failures simply
because they are in some way misusing their ABS?? What about the numerous
technical service bulletins on the ABS in many Chrysler vehicles---do
these support the driver error theory? What about the common complaints
of both internal and external leaks in the system---are these figments
of the owners' imaginations? What about the admissions by numerous
Chrysler staff that indeed ABS problems are common---is this merely because
owners are undereducated? OR is this merely an easy "smokescreen" to hide
behind? I think it is the latter.....I KNOW it is the latter.
