The Devastating Effects
of Hurricane Katrina

August 23 to August 30, 2005




In late August of 2005, New Orleans was hit with one of the largest catastrophies in its entire history. According to Wikipedia, the category three hurricane smashed into the coast of the city on a Monday morning. The city of New Orleans was flooded by the colossal waves as the levee system collapsed. This engineering failure was only the beginning of the problems, which resulted in the loss of many precious lives. Due to the failed design, social problems, and political problems, Hurricane Katrina became the most deadly hurricane to strike the United States since Okeechobee in 1928.
