buying poker chips

This past New Year's Eve, my husband and I were invited to a get together at a friend's house. The night before I received a call from the hostess of the party asking me to bring our poker chips. I told her that I would be glad to and after I hung up the phone, I thought to myself, I don't have any poker chips. Honestly, I am not a big card player. I mean I remember playing Rummy when I was a kid and I did play some poker in my teenage years, mostly strip poker. I hadn't even seen a poker chip in years. I headed out the store the next day on a mission, to find poker chips. I of course, went to Walmart and began wondering where to find poker chips, I didn't have a clue where to look so I asked someone and they directed me to the Sporting Goods section. I wandered around there for what must have been about 15 minutes, and still could not locate them, so I asked another person, and they showed me where they were on the back wall. Then I stopped and picked up some snacks to bring to the party. I headed home with everything to get ready for the party. When I got home, I told my husband that obviously we would be playing cards tonight, and I asked him to go over the rules of poker with me, because it had been so long since I had played. He asked me which kind of poker I didn't remember, but I told him I didn't know. I told him I had always played poker with 5 cards. He said that was five card draw. We reviewed that and then he explained to me the rules of seven card stud and Texas holdem as well. Well, I was really glad that he reviewed all the games with me because they wanted to play Texas holdem. Although I didn't win a game and we didn't play for money, it was a fun evening and I was really glad that we had gone over the different types of poker games before we went. It definitely made for a nicer evening.
