I went to a STEM program in high school, and I was in a track that focused on sustainability and human interaction with the environment. Here, I learned about how humans and environment are influenced by each other and about different environmental and human problems. As a student in College Park Scholars, I hope to learn more about the world to become a more informed citizen, and as a more informed citizen to make better decisions regarding my lifestyle and how it contributes to larger trends and effects. I also hope to gain practical skills and experience through workshops, excursions, and service opportunities. I am a chemical and biomolecular engineering major. I really enjoy chemistry and biology, especially in the context of using the body of knowledge from those disciplines to create things that better the environment or enrich human lives. I am a commuter student, so I do not live on campus.
