A wagon train is ambushed by Apaches; only 7 women escape the massacre. Led by Mary Ann (Anne Baxter), the women set out across the desert on foot. Scout Gus McIntosh leads a cavalry patrol to rescue them, but the Apaches attack once more, killing all of the soldiers but Gus. The remaining women (six are left now) and Gus prepare for the final onslaught, but the Apache chief grants them their lives as a reward for their bravery.
When this film was released in Spain in 1966, it was a huge hit, being
seen by 1.3 million spectators.
