NOTES: this was the first starring film
of "Los Polivoces," a TV comedy team which specialized in
appearing as various characters (in wild makeup and costumes). Both
Eduardo Manzano and Enrique Cuenca play numerous roles in this film, but
their "primary" roles are as Eduardo and Enrique, two young men who leave
their provincial home to seek their fortune in the capital. The rest of
the film depicts their misadventures in a variety of occupations. At the
end of the movie they return to their home.
Amedee Chabot appears in one sequence as the blonde gringa wife of the manager of a hotel where Eduardo and Enrique get jobs as bellhops. Amedee tells Enrique: "You Mexicans are very ardent...my Mexican husband is also very ardent, but very jealous..." Sure enough, her irate husband then bursts into the room and in the next scene Enrique has bandages on his head!
