Multilingual Access to Large spoken ArCHives (MALACH)
Supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, MALACH is a
joint research effort of the University of Maryland, the Survivors of
the Shoah Visual History Foundation, IBM, and Johns Hopkins
University. The project's purpose is to dramatically improve access
to large multilingual collections of recorded speech in oral history
archives. Researchers are using Holocaust survivor testimonies
collected by the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation to
test this technology.
