The Baltimore Learning Community (BLC) is the effort of a consortium of public and private
organizations to demonstrate innovative use of the National Inf ormation Infrastructure in
support of systematic school reform.

servers to be accessed by other applications and to support the integration of multiple
heterogeneous servers in a networked environment.
The DIMSUM Project: This project is
developing a flexible distributed database architecture that can adjust to a wide range of
application, system, and network properties.
The Museum Educational Site
Licensing Projectwas jointly launched by the Getty Art History Information Program
(AHIP) and MUSE Educational Media to explore and promote the educational benefits of
digital access to museum collections through campus networks maintained by academic
institutions in order to help promote the development of computer-based learning tools for
the study of art and culture.
