• Baltimore Learning Community Project Home Page: The Baltimore Learning Community (BLC) is the effort of a consortium of public and private organizations to demonstrate innovative use of the National Inf ormation Infrastructure in support of systematic school reform.
• User Interface for the Library of Congress National Digital Library Program : The Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory (HCIL) at the University of Maryland is assisting the Library of Congress (LC) in designing user interfaces and organizing the content of the National Digital Library (NDL).
• Perseus Project Homepage:Perseus is an evolving digital library which currently focuses upon the ancient Greek world.
• University of Maryland Information Filtering Project: The goal of the projects is to develop high performance automatic information filtering techniques that can be employed effectively by casual users in a broad range of disciplines. Links to a very large collection of network-accessible resources on information filtering and cross-language information retrieval are available.
• University of Maryland Information Mediation Project: This project conducts research on mediator and translator technology, for networked heterogeneous information servers.
• University of Maryland Heterogeneous Knowledge Servers: The goal of this project is to allow legacy database servers to be accessed by other applications and to support the integration of multiple heterogeneous servers in a networked environment.
• The DIMSUM Project: This project is developing a flexible distributed database architecture that can adjust to a wide range of application, system, and network properties.
• The Museum Educational Site Licensing Projectwas jointly launched by the Getty Art History Information Program (AHIP) and MUSE Educational Media to explore and promote the educational benefits of digital access to museum collections through campus networks maintained by academic institutions in order to help promote the development of computer-based learning tools for the study of art and culture.
