I am a Postdoc working with Professor Carter Hall on the EXO neutrinoless double beta decay search, and the LUX dark matter experiment.
Presently my work focuses mostly on detector calibration and background control. Intrinsic backgrounds are studied through extensive measurements of trace levels of radioactivity present in all construction materials, simulation of backgrounds in the detector, and accounting for every nut and bolt and wire that contributes to building the detectors.
