Title of Project: A Different View: Shadowing Eye Physician And Cosmetic Eyelid Surgeon
Decscription of Project:
She shadowed Dr. Chakshuvej during patient visit. Her activities included observing the diagnosis
and treatments given by Dr. Chakshuvej and observing the use of medical equipment, such as
Slit Lamp Biomicroscopy and Phoroptor/Refractors. She also assisted and adjusted the mirror for
visual examination.
What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?:
She learned ways to take care of our eyes and some eye diseases.
What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking
of the project?:
She could not do a lot of first-hand pracitce.

Title of Project: Cosmic Ray Energetics and Mass
Decscription of Project:
He monitored a balloon in Antarctica that is searching for ultra high energy cosmic rays. He was an
assistance to make sure nothing went wrong.
What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?:
After a semester of volunteering, it became his first job. He learned how to analyze data and graph,
and how to detect an error.
What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking
of the project?:
It was tedious work that took a long time. He had to graph 4 million data points, for example. He wokred
long working shift, such as midnight to 8am.

His project was a research of hybrid cars in relation to the envrionmental factors.
What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?:
He learned the mechanism of the hybrid cars and pros/cons in purchasing hybrid cars.
What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking
of the project?:
Aquiring and gathering information was very time consuming.
