Title of Project: Cosmic Ray Energetics and Mass

Decscription of Project: Jeremy Eaton worked under Dr. Eun-Suk Seo and the Cosmic Ray Physics Group. His duties were to making sure that the ballooncraft was working correctly. He also analyzed data and made graphs and diagrams using Micrsoft Excel.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?: From the project, he learned about cosmic radiation and how to detect these particles. He also obtained research experience in an area that he was interested in.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?: He found it tedious graphing and making diagrams that consisted of millions of data points. Also, his time shift was an obstacle because they were not consistent; sometimes he worked throughout the night!

Title of Project: A Different View: Shadowing Eye Physician and Cosmetic Eyelid Surgeon

Decscription of Project: Anting Hsuing shadowed Dr. Chakshuvej, an ophtalmologist in College Park, MD. Her duties were to assist Dr. Chakshuvej, observe the treatments he gave, and observe and use the medical equiments.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?: She learned about different eye diseases and how to take good care of the eye.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?: Even though she got to observe Dr. Chakshuvej and assist him at times, she did not have good hands on experience.

Title of Project: Hybrid and Their Impact on Society

Decscription of Project: Albert Nguyen researched on hybrid cars and how they impact our society. He included details of how hyrbid cars work and function.

What were the main benefits you received from doing the project?: Researching on hyrbid cars has allowed him to have a better understanding of how they function. His interest on hybrid cars has also increased and he learned how they help our society.

What were the main pitfalls or obstacles during the development and/or undertaking of the project?: Researching on hybrid cars was tedious because there was a lot of information.
