Welcome! I'm a linguist in the Center for Advanced Study of Language at the University of Maryland, College Park. Together with colleagues in linguistics, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, computer science, and assessment, I work on interdisciplinary projects analyzing the structure and learning of languages that are less commonly taught in the United States.

My personal research is concerned with the effects of linguistic experience on phonological development throughout life. I investigate this question primarily by examining the phonology of multilingualism and language contact. As such, my work is strongly cross-linguistic in nature, and I take an experimental approach to investigating the ways in which production and perception of human speech continue to be shaped in adulthood by both canonical and non-canonical experiences with sounds in multiple languages.
