College App Dashboard: Application for At-Risk Youths
Fall 2011
The College App is a tool to help students access the information and complete the college application process.
It approaches the problem with the recognition that the task of applying to
multiple colleges requires the applicant to seek out a lot of information, manage a complex process, and meet a series of requirements and deadlines. A starting assumption of this project is that not all students
have the same access to the resources to help them work through this process.
To meet this need, the application provides three main functions. First it serves as a single location where college applicants can learn about the entire process. Second, provides a tool for searching for and selecting schools. Finally it provides a dashboard to help students manage the array of different information and deadlines required in the process.

Gowalla Usability Testing
Fall 2011
My part of a group project to study the usability of Gowalla on mobile devices. Gowalla is a location- based social network smartphone application that allows users to "check-in" to different locations (report their location). It can be used as a private documenting tool or as a social application, since it allows users to have friends and share their information with them.
Note: Gowalla has since been discontinued.

Task Management Application
Fall 2011
Group project that focuses on the feasibility and usability of a web-based task management program called "Could you Please...?" We primarily used interviewing and usability testing methods. Usability tests allow us to gauge both a subjects understanding of the application's purpose and his or her experience with the program albeit a negative or a positive experience. We performed several stages of observation and user feedback as well as iterated on our design.
We designed a paper prototype and two interactive prototypes for the project. The group designed a web application that creates, stores, and manipulates "to do" lists. Members receive points when accomplishing a task. Points are an efficient method that makes
